Short definitions of the terms used across Lab Notes.
Area percent: the proportion of integrated chromatographic signal assigned to a peak under a stated method.
Batch or lot: a defined quantity of material tied to a production or test record.
COA: a certificate of analysis reporting selected tests for a particular material, batch, and date.
HPLC: high-performance liquid chromatography, a separation method used to characterize components.
Lyophilized: freeze-dried; water is removed from frozen material by sublimation.
Mass spectrometry: a method that measures mass-to-charge ratios to support identity and other measurements.
RUO: research use only; not for human or veterinary consumption, diagnosis, or therapy.
